Context
What is this for?
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine is reforming the school subject “Defence of Ukraine”.

Starting in September 2024, it will be taught according to an updated programme that shapes patriotic consciousness, a system of values, and practical skills — from first aid to information security.

All students will study the same content, regardless of gender.

Our part
Special classesfor practical skills
The course is focused on the practical application of knowledge, so it requires modern educational centres.

The ‘Real Skills Space’ we have implemented in Kyiv is just that. It is equipped with everything necessary for the high-quality acquisition of skills in first aid, civil protection, and information security.

The centre was created on the basis of the KAI Professional College of Engineering, Management and Land Management on the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

What is in the space?

The space has been created taking into account all technical requirements for equipment, teaching aids and visualisation. The centre has a lecture hall, functional areas for practising practical skills, and an auditorium with interactive locations in the shelter.

Separately, the centre will host events for the professional development of teachers and meetings with the parent community.

It is accessible not only to students of the Kyiv Aviation Institute, but also to anyone else who is interested: pupils, students, and teachers from other institutions.

This initiative carries not only significant educational value but also helps foster a culture of a conscious society — one that is informed and prepared to provide assistance in emergency situations. The authors of the project have developed practical recommendations that will be useful to the heads of other educational institutions.
