With the support of the Danish LEGO Foundation, we equipped four safe shelters in kindergartens and schools in the Mykolaiv region, two of which are shared by preschool and school-age children. Local children can now learn, develop skills, and communicate in a safe, comfortable environment.
We transformed these shelters into full-fledged learning spaces where classes can safely continue during air raid alerts. They include separate learning and play zones, as well as comfortable sleeping areas for the youngest children.
In addition, with the support of the LEGO Foundation, we converted the second floor of a family medicine outpatient clinic in the settlement of Pervomaiske into a fully equipped temporary school, ensuring uninterrupted access to education for local children.
The total cost of equipping the shelters and the temporary school amounted to almost UAH 55 million.
