the progress
All schools in the Malynivka community in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region have been operating exclusively online for several years due to the ongoing war.
In early 2026, savED opened a shelter-based educational center EduHive in a local kindergarten. It has become one of the few safe spaces where children can learn, socialize, and spend time together in person.
However, the center is currently too small to serve the entire student community.
The project calls for the renovation of an additional 110 square meters of shelter space, including the installation of heating and ventilation systems, general renovation works, and furnishing of the space:
- installation of a heating system;
- installation of a ventilation system (currently unavailable);
- general renovation works;
- furnishing and equipping the space.
The expansion will help create a safe and comfortable environment for approximately 675 school-age children living in the community and provide an educational space for more than 80 students who regularly participate in offline activities.
Once renovated, the underground space will become a fully functional educational center featuring:
- a sports area for kickboxing and physical activities;
- a classroom for educational catch-up programmes, clubs, workshops, and other in-person activities.
The soft equipment used in the sports area can also serve as temporary sleeping accommodations for civilians seeking shelter during shelling.
To support the renovation of the shelter, we are launching the fundraising campaign “Let’s Create Childhood Despite Everything.”
Joining the campaign are singer and Vivienne Mort frontwoman Daniela Zayushkina, LATEXFAUNA vocalist Dmytro Zezyulin, Chair of Ukraïner Yulia Tymoshenko, young singer NICOLE, and many other supporters who believe every child deserves access to safe education.
School is about much more than lessons. It is where children make their first friends, discover their talents, build confidence, and dream about the future. It is a place where character is shaped and a sense of belonging is formed.
Together, we can create a safe space where children can learn, grow, and simply be children — despite the war.
